This program is offered on a part-time basis only. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English. IELTS minimum of 6.5 overall. Candidates must sit and pass the Aptitude Test set and administered by the Program Director before being admitted to the program. A fee may apply for the Aptitude Test. Work experience is desirable but not essential.

Why study the Graduate Certificate in Arts in Japanese Interpreting?
The Graduate Certificate in Arts in Japanese Interpreting is a one-year, half-time program offering a solid grounding in consecutive interpreting to students wishing to specialise in liaison interpreting, rather than conference interpreting or translation. Students will work in both directions (Japanese to English, English to Japanese). All materials covered in interpreting class are authentic and cover a range of subjects likely to arise in a real liaison interpreting setting.
