Degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree in a relevant field with a GPA of at least 4.5 on a 7 point scale OR relevant post-secondary study and at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Applications on the basis of post-secondary study and work experience will be individually assessed. Relevant fields include but are not limited to Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Economics, Commerce, Business, Public Policy, International Development, Architecture, Regional or Town Planning. A minimum of two years practical experience in a related field is preferred.

Why study the Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management?
The Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management is no longer available. This program is for continuing students only. No new admissions will be accepted.
The Integrated Water Management suite of programs is taught by lecturers from The University of Queensland, Griffith University, along with Monash University, The University of Western Australia and leading practitioners. The program aims to build future water leaders with an emphasis on working in WASH and community development, in urban water policy, planning and management, or across stakeholders in the context of integrating water resource management for water, food, energy and environmental purposes. The program draws on the expertise of international leaders in education and research across a wide breadth of disciplines, taking a critical and interdisciplinary "whole-of-water-cycle" approach that equips students with practical tools and skills for developing and managing the implementation of solutions to local, regional, national and international water challenges. What you can study
Students will develop the strategic, managerial and technical skills they need to advance in the water sector. They will become familiar with all aspects of integrated water resource management; be capable of providing water management expertise to help reduce poverty through equitable and sustainable use of water; be skilled to provide technical and managerial input into planning, design and operation of water projects and facilities; understand the principles of managing water supply, wastewater treatment and urban infrastructure projects; recognise the socio-economic factors impacting on effective water solutions; and understand the governance and institutional frameworks underpinning water resource management.

What you can do with a Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management
Careers
Participants will develop the leadership, managerial and technical skills they need to advance in the water sector, locally, nationally and internationally. Graduates will be able to pursue management positions and better able to exert leadership within public, private and non-governmental organisations. Students may enhance or pursue careers with water utilities, policy and planning bodies at various levels of government, consulting firms, mining companies and NGOs focussed on water related aspects of international development.
