Why study the Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management?
The Integrated Water Management suite of programs is taught by lecturers from four internationally recognised Australian Universities - The University of Queensland, Monash University, The University of Western Australia and Griffith University. The program aims to build future leaders in water management with an emphasis on working either in rural international development, in urban water policy and management, or across stakeholders in the context of integrating water resource management for water, food, energy and environment. The program draws on the expertise of international leaders in education and research across a wide breadth of disciplines, taking a trans-disciplinary "whole-of-water-cycle" approach that equips students with practical tools and skills for developing and managing the implementation of innovative solutions to local, regional, national and international water challenges. Graduates will be part of a growing and vibrant global professional network of alumni, lecturers and institutions, with continued access to a pool of expertise and opportunities for professional development. What you can study
Students will develop the strategic, managerial and technical skills they need to advance in the water sector. They will become familiar with all aspects of integrated water resource management; be capable of providing water management expertise to help reduce poverty through equitable and sustainable use of water; be skilled to provide technical and managerial input into planning, design and operation of water projects and facilities; understand the principles of managing water supply, wastewater treatment and urban infrastructure projects; recognise the socio-economic factors impacting on effective water solutions; and understand the governance and institutional frameworks underpinning water resource management.

What you can do with a Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management
Careers
IWC trained professionals will develop the strategic, managerial and technical skills they need to advance in the water sector, locally and internationally. Graduates will be able to apply for high-level management positions in the public, private and non-governmental sectors. Students may pursue careers with international development agencies, private water management companies, or policy and planning bodies at various levels of government. Graduates from the program are expected to be especially interesting to consultancy companies carrying out work in developing countries, as well as in local domestic work.

To complete the Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management
To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #16 from the Master of Integrated Water Management List comprising #8 from Part A plus #8 from Part B. Refer to the Graduate Diploma in Integrated Water Management rules for further information.
