Why study the Master of Music?

The UQ Master of Music is an innovative and flexible program of study designed for music professionals working in school-based music education, independent studio music education, and community music education. It is an ideal program for music professionals seeking to renew their creative and intellectual focus and gain the UQ Music Advantage. Incorporating contemporary theory and practice, intensive summer semesters and overseas independent study opportunities, the UQ Master of Music provides students with a variety of pathways to graduation and professional leadership opportunities.

Graduates gain the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the music profession in a range of educational and community settings. The Master of Music also provides research intensive pathways for those wanting to pursue research higher degree studies.

To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Music, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

A student is required to obtain #24 from the MMus List.
