Approved degree in the same discipline or equivalent.
Same discipline in music may include studies in performance, composition, musicology, or music education. For the field of music education, a degree qualifying a person to become a classroom music teacher satisfies the requirement.

Why study the Graduate Certificate in Music?
These performance-based programs provide students with extended application of pedagogical principles, skills and resources in a workshop situation. Students have the opportunity to select courses in instrumental pedagogy, aural studies and methodology, choral or orchestral conducting and classroom pedagogy. Graduates of the program demonstrate knowledge and application of the principles of music pedagogy - instrumental or aural - in educational and community settings.

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Music, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
