Why study the Graduate Certificate in e-Healthcare?
The use of information and communication technologies is becoming increasingly common in all health professions. Healthcare professionals are becoming aware that an understanding of information systems and their applications is essential in their professional life. The program is designed to provide knowledge and hands-on skills in e-healthcare and is suitable for both the health professionals wishing to enhance their understanding of and ability to work effectively with information & communication technologies, and for graduates who wish to pursue careers in the healthcare field. The program explores the influence of technology in healthcare practice, advantages and potential challenges posed by the changes in healthcare delivery, clinical practice, education, administration and research. Graduates are able to critically evaluate developments in e-healthcare: analyse their effectiveness and possible trends for the future.
The Centre for Online Health is a leading research institution with experience in telepaediatrics, teledermatology, telehomecare, home palliative care and teleneurology. The web-based flexible learning program is designed to allow a wide audience, particularly busy healthcare professionals, to upgrade their knowledge and skills in e-healthcare.

Careers
Graduates should be able to use sophisticated information technology & information management techniques to improve quality of health care. Employment opportunities in exist in private health care organisations, hospitals, clinics, managed care organisations, state & federal government departments in the management, coordination & delivery of e-Health services. Positions include: telehealth coordinator, systems & infrastructure manager (telehealth), manager, statewide telehealth services.

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in e-Healthcare, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #8 from the GCeH List. Refer to CGeH rules for further information.
