Why study the Master of Clinical Psychology?
Clinical psychologists promote optimal levels of psychological functioning to decrease levels of psychological distress. They have expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a broad range of emotional and behavioural problems including anxiety, depression, stress, substance addiction and abuse, adjustment to physical illness, relationship difficulties and learning disabilities. This program provides knowledge and professional skills in the area of clinical psychology through a combination of coursework, supervised practice, and research.
What you can study
Students will gain a foundation in the scientific bases and practice of clinical psychology and receive training in clinical practice which employs evidence-based best practice model.

Additional application requirements
Applicants with non-Australian degrees must have their qualifications assessed by the Australian Psychological Society. Irrespective of professional background, entry to the program will be considered on the basis of previous academic study, experience and personal qualities. Detailed application requirements can be found on the https://psychology.uq.edu.au/study/postgraduate School of Psychology website. <10><10>Applicants must submit via the Online Application a Psychology Additional Information form, academic transcripts, and CV. In addition, two references will need to be submitted using the Australian Psychology Post-Graduate Program Reference Request System. Shortlisted candidates are required to undertake an interview. <10><10>Offers will be made on the basis of academic achievement, references and interview. There are limited places available for this program. A limited number of places are available for suitably qualified applicants on the basis of equity and students identifying as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are encouraged to apply. <10><10>All successful applicants are required to apply for and gain provisional registration or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, which includes English Language Proficiency requirements. Program rules for the Master of Clinical Psychology
To complete the Master of Clinical Psychology
To graduate with a Master of Clinical Psychology a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
