Bachelor degree in geological science, geological engineering or related field, with UQ or equivalent GPA of 4.5 or above on a 7 point scale; or
5 years of work experience in the same discipline.

- Courses are offered by short intensive modules, application exercises, and project.
- Some courses may incur additional costs (e.g. field trips).
- In certain plans, courses are offered in web-based delivery mode, enabling international students to take the courses in their home countries.
- Students may need hardware/software required for access to internet.
- Some courses are offered only once each year, or in some years not at all. Students should enquire about the availability of courses early in the application process, and well before committing to travel to Brisbane.
A limited number of Commonwealth supported places (CSP) are available for domestic students. CSP students pay a student contribution amount, rather than paying tuition fees. Domestic students who apply for entry to the program will automatically be considered for a CSP. CSPs are limited and are not guaranteed for all domestic applicants. What you can do with a Graduate Certificate in Mineral Resources
Careers
The program encompasses the range of mineral and petroleum exploration activities. Industry recognises the need for resource exploration and development professionals to keep up with modern developments in the science. Each subject area is coordinated by a principal supervisor with an applied research background, but also involves industry associates.
Candidates can follow either a broad stream entirely within the scheduled subjects or may follow specialist streams of geophysics or geochemistry to enhance employment opportunities.
