- a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale, and
- a GPA of at least 4.5 for 8 units of courses at level 3 or higher relevant to the honours project, and
- have secured an honours project and supervisor, and
- satisfied any additional requirements set by the head of school.

Why study the Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours)?
The Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours) program provides students with the opportunity to pursue an independent research project in an area of interest under the supervision of an academic staff member.
Build your expertise in one of five specialist areas: Agricultural Biotechnology, Chemical and Nano Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Molecular and Microbial Biotechnology or Synthetic Biology and Industrial Biotechnology.
Students will acquire skills that will enable them to work without close supervision in a research environment in industry or government, or to proceed to a research higher degree.

To complete the Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours)
To graduate with a Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours) a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
