Placement courses
Students undertake over 900^ hours of supervised clinical practice in a range of clinical settings that includes hospitals, educational facilities, other health care organisations, private practices and UQ's internal clinics. During placements, students will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge acquired through coursework and research to practice and develop clinical skills in real life settings.
Students will undertake a variety of sessional practical experiences from year one before commencing full time block placements during years three and four.
Students may be required to undertake clinical placements outside of the Brisbane metropolitan area and students are required to fund their travel, accommodation and daily living expenses.

Research component
From year one, all students learn to be consumers, collaborators and generators of physiotherapy-related research, completing courses covering general research principles, statistics, health sciences research and research projects. Students integrate this into an evidence-based practice approach to clinical practice spanning from information literacy to knowledge translation. There is an opportunity for students who wish to pursue a research focus to undertake a research project in year 4.

Honours will be awarded to all graduates of this program.

To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours), a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #64 from the BPhty(Hons) course list. Refer to the BPhty(Hons) program rules for further information.
