Why study the Bachelors of Engineering (Honours)/Information Technology?
Enrolment is generally restricted to single majors in the BE (Hons) program. However, where students are enrolled in the BInfTech single major, enrolment is permitted in conjunction with the BE (Hons) Electrical Eng (Extended major); Electrical & Biomedical Eng; Electrical & Computer Eng; Mechatronic Eng (Extended major). Students must obtain an approved study plan prior to enrolment in these extended majors or dual majors.

- Safety induction program ($40 with group, or $80 individual)

Careers
BE(Hons): The UQ engineering degree is highly regarded and employment prospects are excellent. Engineers find employment in private employment, as consultants, in the government and in many areas of business and industry. BInfTech: Career opportunities are extensive because computer usage is almost universal. Graduates are likely to find employment in government; commercial enterprises; industrial organisations; computer manufacturers; public utilities; local authorities; universities or as private consultants. Program rules for the Bachelors of Engineering (Honours)/Information Technology
To complete the Bachelors of Engineering (Honours)/Information Technology
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelors of Engineering (Honours)/Information Technology, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #88 comprising:
- #56 to #62 from the BE (Hons) list to include a major in a chosen field of study and
- #26 to #32 to from the BInfTech list, in accordance with the BInfTech program requirements for no major or a single major.
A mandatory requirement of the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) program is:
- Completion of 60 days of Engineering Professional Practice to satisfy the requirements of Engineers Australia.
