Why study the Bachelor of International Studies?
The Bachelor of International Studies is a three-year (equivalent full-time) degree program which provides students with an interdisciplinary core of courses which provide grounding in the cultural and communicative aspects of globalisation and the world system. Each student completes a major in a language other than English from the wide range of languages taught at UQ and another major with strong international relevance.

Program rules for the Bachelor of International Studies
To complete the Bachelor of International Studies
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of International Studies, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
48 units, including:
- 16 units from part A of the list
- a 16 unit major from part B of the list (language other than English)
- a 16 unit major from Part C of the list (major with strong international relevance)
- a student must complete 6 to 8 units of the 48 units in courses undertaken on overseas exchange study.
