Why study the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety Science?
This program will have its first intake in 2010.
The curriculum is based on sound foundations in science, with the first year prdominately science courses, but including an introduction to the discipline of occupational health and safety. The subsequent three years of the program focus on specific aspects of occupational health and safety. This program is unique as it addresses psychosocial and mental health issues within the workplace as well as the long recognised chemical, physical, mechanical and biological hazards. The final semester of the program is a series of industry placements - either with a single industry partner or up to four separate industry partners.
There is currently a shortage of well-qualified occupational health and safety professionals, particularly those with an undergraduate degree based on a sound background in the physical, behavioural, psychosocial and life sciences.

Honours
Honours is a modified program of study in year 4, with entry based on grade point average.

Program rules for the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety Science
To complete the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety Science
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety Science, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #64 from Part A of the BOccHlth&SafeSc List. For honours, a student is required to obtain #64 taking a program modified as listed in Part B of the BOccHlth&SafeSc List (yet to be approved). Refer to BOccHlth&SafeSc rules for further information.
