Why study the Bachelor of Communication (Honours)?

The Honours program is based on a combination of coursework and a research thesis in the area of Communication. This degree develops advanced skills and knowledge in Communication theory, research, policy and practice. It is an interdisciplinary program that enables students to study within and across schools that specialise in various areas of Communication.

What you can do with a Bachelor of Communication (Honours)

Careers

Graduates are prepared for a range of careers in: mediation/dispute/crisis consultancy, communication management in government and commercial agencies; interactive multi-media design and web management; advertising; negotiation and advocacy; on-line publishing and new media communications; media administration; organisational communication, strategic communication and public relations; publicist and campaign management; media policy, planning and management; mass media research; publishing, magazine and corporate publication writing; web-based education; information management; events management; communication technology.

Program rules for the Bachelor of Communication (Honours)

To complete the Bachelor of Communication (Honours)

To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Communication (Honours), a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

A student is required to obtain 16 units from the program list.

An honours student must have the thesis topic approved by the head of the appropriate school and the executive dean.

The thesis must be presented by the end of the final teaching week in the semester in which the student is to complete honours.
