Why study the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours)?
The honours program involves intensive thesis work, usually with a research component. Links to industry in thesis work are encouraged. A student must take #16 from the PGBInfTech(Hons) program list.
What you can study
Graduates will have in-depth knowledge and be prepared for leadership in the information technology profession. Graduates will be prepared for practice in a world of accelerating change and also have a thorough understanding with depth and accuracy of the impact of information technology within an organisation, with society at large, and a detailed appreciation of the impact of information technology on the global scale. In addition, graduates will display effective communication skills, independence and creativity, critical judgment and ethical and social understanding.

Careers
Career opportunities are extensive given that computer usage is almost universal. Graduates are likely to find employment in government, commercial enterprises, industrial organisations, computer manufacturers, public utilities, local authorities, universities, or as private consultants.

To complete the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours)
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours), a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
An honours student must complete from Part H of the BInfTech list -
- #4 from Part A
- #8 from Part B (special topics and advanced courses); and
- #4 from Part H or other advanced-level courses approved by the Executive Dean.
