- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science
If you hold a qualification other than the Bachelor of Information Technology from UQ, you must have successfully completed all of the following discipline content in your tertiary studies:
- algorithms and data structures
- programming, or programming in C or C++ or java (and/or software engineering or object-oriented programming (OOP)
- discrete mathematics
- web/mobile programming or web design
- information systems or database systems
- human-computer interaction
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
A bachelor's degree awarded more than 5 years prior to admission will not be considered.

Why study the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours)?

What you can study
Graduates will have in-depth knowledge and be prepared for leadership in the information technology profession. Graduates will be prepared for practice in a world of accelerating change and also have a thorough understanding with depth and accuracy of the impact of information technology within an organisation, with society at large, and a detailed appreciation of the impact of information technology on the global scale. In addition, graduates will display effective communication skills, independence and creativity, critical judgment and ethical and social understanding.

To complete the Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours)
To graduate with a Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
