Why study the Bachelors of Information Technology/Arts?
The Bachelor of Information Technology includes many features designed to make study attractive and engaging to students while producing graduates tailored to meet the needs of industry. This degree offers hands-on, project-focused study as well as a chance to do a 'sandwich' period of workplace experience. Students can either follow standard study plans or create their own plans to meet study and career goals to target particular interests.
What you can study
Graduates will have in-depth knowledge and be prepared for leadership in the information technology profession. Graduates will display effective communication skills, independence and creativity, critical judgment and ethical and social understanding. The objective of the Bachelor of Information Technology is to train students in- * the study of digital computer systems and their applications * the ability to process data or information in order to solve problems * the study of programming languages, algorithms and information structures. The Bachelor of Arts program aims to provide graduates with strongly developed skills in the key performance areas of written communication, problem solving, critical thinking and interpersonal understanding.

What you can do with a Bachelors of Information Technology/Arts
Careers
Career opportunities for Bachelor of Information Technology graduates are extensive because computer usage is almost universal. Graduates are likely to find employment in government; commercial enterprises; industrial organisations; computer manufacturers; public utilities; local authorities; universities or as private consultants. Bachelor of Information Technology and Bachelor of Arts graduates go on to many areas of employment. It will depend on the area of study undertaken, since some are specialised areas that lead in specific directions - such as Psychology, Journalism, or Languages. Other fields are general training for professional or semi-professional careers in business, government or teaching.

Program rules for the Bachelors of Information Technology/Arts
To complete the Bachelors of Information Technology/Arts
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelors of Information Technology/Arts, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #64 comprising
- #32 from the BInfTech List including #20 for Part A compulsory and #12 from Part B in accordance with the BInfTech program requirements; and
- #32 from the BA List including -
- two single majors; or
- one double major; and the balance from courses in Part A or Part B or both.
