Why study the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours)?
Please note: This program has been restructured and has a new program code for students commencing from 2021. If you commenced prior to 2021 you should follow the rules and course list from the year you commenced. Transitional arrangements for pre-2021 students are available here.
BAdvBus(Hons) is a 4 year degree aimed at high achieving students seeking an advanced option to study business. The professional pathway allows you to take up to two majors from the following specialist teaching areas: accounting; business analytics; business info. systems; finance; HR; innovation and entrepreneurship; int'l business; and marketing; while the research pathway offers a thesis for students who may wish to enter a PhD.
Honours is awarded to all graduates, which means you will have a globally recognised degree that will stand out in a competitive job market.
Note: for students who commenced in 2021 or later, the following courses contribute to the research training required by PPL 3.50.12: ACCT4101, BSAN4204, BISM4203, FINM4401, IBUS4301, MGTS4603, MKTG4501, RBUS3900, RBUS6996 and TIMS4303. These courses must be undertaken at UQ.

RBUS4999 is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course that provides you with the opportunity to apply theoretical and conceptual knowledge to the workplace via a professional placement. The course is particularly focused on enabling you to develop employability skills, gain workplace knowledge, understand the attitudes of working professionals, grow a professional network, and engage with real world business issues.

To complete the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours)
To graduate with a Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
