Applied Mathematics (Minor)
For the minor in Applied Mathematics, students must complete 8 units comprising —
    - 4 units for Applied Mathematics minor compulsory courses; and
    - 4 units from Applied Mathematics minor elective courses.
Students who have not successfully completed Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) should complete MATH1050 in their first semester as an elective course.
Students completing the Physics major or extended major must complete MATH1051/MATH1071, MATH1052/MATH1072, MATH2001, and MATH2100.

- [1] Students without at least a grade of C in Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) are required to take MATH1050 before MATH1051.
- [2] Students with a keen interest in mathematics and a grade of B or higher in Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) (or a 6 or 7 in MATH1050) should take the sequence MATH1071, MATH1072 and MATH2401. Other students, including those with a grade of C in Queensland Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) (or a 4 or 5 in MATH1050), should take the sequence MATH1051, MATH1052 and MATH2400.
