Why study Transport Engineering?

Getting from A to B. In one way or another, we do it almost every day of our lives. But as the places we live become denser and more congested, how do we make our movements safer, smarter and more sustainable? The major in transport engineering provides students with the ability to help address these challenges. Courses in sustainable transport engineering, road design, traffic analysis and simulation, network modelling and behavioural modelling will equip you to immediately contribute to a wide range of transport engineering projects in the engineering industry. You can also choose to pursue research with world-leading academics in the emerging fields of advanced video analytics to identify the precursors of crashes and help reduce road trauma. You can also learn to harness the power of big data analytics to learn more about how people travel around cities, so we can design new ways to shape their movements. Future mobility innovations, such as shared, autonomous, connected and electric vehicles are fast approaching. The major in transport engineering will allow you to understand how they can become a fully-integrated part of our transport networks.
