Why study Statistics?
Statistics provides the mathematics and techniques necessary for understanding and dealing with chance and uncertainty. It involves the design, collection, analysis and interpretation of data, with the aim of extracting patterns and other useful relationships. A key feature of statistics is the development and use of probabilistic models for random phenomena, which can be analysed and used to make predictions and decisions. Statistics is available as a minor and major.
