Why study Sports Studies?

A minor in Sports Studies provides an understanding of sport and leisure industries from sociological, historical, economic and psychological perspectives. You will undertake courses in the social science and humanities areas of sport that will complement other knowledge areas such as social policy, journalism, management, business, marketing, planning and development, education, and psychology. Sports Studies graduates currently hold leadership positions with State and National sporting teams, the media and arts, as well as international sporting organisations working in the areas such as sports coaching, sports development and sports management and administration. In addition, this program creates a strong foundation for a research pathway.
