Why study Sports Studies?
Learn to understand the role and importance of sport, and how different social factors can influence motivation and participation. You will undertake courses in the social science and humanities areas of the study of sport as well as courses relating to the sociology of sport and the human body in society. The growth in the sport, physical activity, and health industries over the past decades has created a range of employment opportunities in the areas of social policy, journalism, management, marketing, planning and development, education, and psychology. There are opportunities to work as a recreation coordinator, sports administrator, sports journalist, venue operations officer, sports and events manager, sports development manager, and sports academy researcher.
