Why study Sport and Exercise?

This field prepares students for research and practice in sport and exercise psychology through a combination of coursework, supervised practice, and research experience. Careers in Sport and Exercise Psychology provide diverse opportunities from helping elite athletes develop the psychological skills needed to reach peak performance, to conducting research and awareness into the benefits of exercise for the treatment of chronic illness. Graduates are eligible for registration* as psychologists in Australia and for associate membership in the College of Sports Psychologists.

* Accreditation for the Master of Psychology and four specialisations is currently being sought from the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and is expected to be confirmed in 2017.
