Why study Spanish?
Spanish is the first language of more than 400 million people and the second language of millions more in Europe, the United States, Brazil, Asia and North Africa. Spanish is an official language in international bodies such as the United Nations and World Bank. With Australia's increased exposure to the world economy and competitive labour market, being fluent in a world language like Spanish will give you highly employable communication skills. There is also a strong tradition in the areas of Spanish and Latin American literature and culture, which this major will explore.
