Why study Popular Music and Technology?
Popular music has the power to uplift, stimulate, comfort, motivate and communicate. Its attractiveness lies in its ubiquity, openness and lack of convention. It helps you to understand your own response to music and the society in which you live. The popular music and technology major helps you express yourself in writing and in music production and equips you for changing music making environments by developing practical musical making skills and technical knowledge with mobile devices, digital audio workstations, and recording studio technologies. Completing the popular music music and technology major provides you with the content knowledge for teaching music in schools.
