Why study Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing?
This field of study will assist the student to develop the knowledge and skills required to perform comprehensive assessments and implement advanced nursing practice skills in the management of the critically ill child / neonate and provide specialist care and treatment modalities.
What you can study
Students will explore the impact of nursing practice, the prevention of iatrogenic harm, risk management and the application of family centred care to promote optimal patient outcomes within the context of the specialist setting. Furthermore, students will enhance their understanding of paediatric and neonatal resuscitation, emergency stabilisation and preparation for transportation. Knowledge and skills to promptly identify and care for the deteriorating patient will be developed.
