Why study Nutrition?
This field of study provides broadly based academic training that develops an understanding of nutriton and its role in the public health agenda globally and at the local level. Topics of particular interest include the nutrition transition, and meeting the challenges of both over- and under-nutrition. The program aims to produce nutritionists who can: assess the nutrition situation in populations and communities; formulate, implement and evaluate programs to prevent and alleviate nutrition problems; evaluate community nutrition programs; adapt nutrition programs to changing social, economic and technical circumstances; and effectively communicate scientific findings. Students must hold a 4-year degree in health, behavioural, social, agricultural or biological sciences and have completed relevant work experience satisfactory to the Executive Dean. All fields of study are a mixture of internal and external delivery. All core courses are offered internally and externally. If a student wishes to complete the program either entirely by internal or external delivery the choice of courses is more limited. Summer Semester entry not avaiable for international students.
