Why study Media and Digital Cultures?

BA (Hons) in Media and Digital Cultures offers an in-depth exploration of contemporary digital cultures around the globe. You will broaden your horizons by focusing on the ubiquity of digital media technologies in our lives, the role of media in cultural life, and the emergence of digital media industries and technologies. You will participate in a research design course that will enhance your critical and creative thinking and equip you with the skills needed to complete your honours thesis. This substantial research project involves formulating a research question, conducting in-depth research, and preparing a comprehensive written thesis on a topic relevant to Media and Digital Cultures.

What you can study

The Honours year focuses on developing and consolidating the knowledge and skills acquired during undergraduate study, with particular emphasis on using those skills in a sustained and purposeful way by conducting independent research. Apart from content knowledge, employers and professionals value Honours graduates advanced communication skills, the capacity for independent work, and the ability to think critically and write substantial reports.
