Why study Marine Biology?
Study a major in Marine Biology and apply key principles from ecology, zoology, botany and genetics to examine marine life and investigate their biological relationship to their natural environments. Led by Australia's leading marine researchers, you will be exposed to a variety of marine habitats and environmental conditions. Gain extensive field work experience at UQ's Heron Island Research Station on the southern Great Barrier Reef and UQ's Moreton Bay Research Station on North Stradbroke Island. Learn to apply a wide range of evidence-based ecological and environmental strategies to protect and sustainably manage vital marine organisms and ecosystems across the globe. Marine Biology is available as a minor and major.
