The field of learning support is designed for people working with students who are at risk of failure. It provides teachers and others interested in promoting student learning with the skills to:

• identify students who are experiencing difficulties in learning
• analyse student learning to identifying the underlying causes of school failure
• develop effective programs to enhance student learning of all students, particularly those
• work collaboratively with teachers, administrators and other colleagues to develop more
• monitor program effectiveness
