Why study Journalism?

BA (Hons) in Journalism allows you to critically examine contemporary issues in journalism, exploring both theoretical and practical aspects under the guidance of leading academics and industry professionals. The program focuses on developing your leadership skills and enhancing your ability to produce high-quality journalistic work that can influence what the world reads, watches and understands. You will conclude your studies by conducting original research on a journalism-related topic, presenting your findings in a comprehensive thesis.

What you can study

The Honours year focuses on developing and consolidating the knowledge and skills acquired during undergraduate study, with particular emphasis on using those skills in a sustained and purposeful way by conducting independent research. Apart from content knowledge, employers and professionals value Honours graduates advanced communication skills, the capacity for independent work, and the ability to think critically and write substantial reports.
