Why study Journalism and Mass Communication?
The Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication minor offers students a continuing foundation in journalism and mass communication studies, as well as courses that reflect the globally focused and rapidly changing news and media industries, including advanced methods for studying the news and media industries and their role in society in the digital age. Students study courses that engage with new and emerging technologies and their impact on journalism and society. Internships, practicums, field trips, and work experience offer students great opportunities to gain professional experience, build self-confidence, and make valuable industry connections. Overall, the program helps students to develop skills in global journalism, mass communication, and digital media while building valuable industry connections in the field.
