Why study Environment and Society?
Students undertaking a major in Environment and Society bring social science research skills and theory-informed critical thinking to addressing the current socio-political challenges related to climate change and the environment, such as fast fashion, green consumerism and clean energy policymaking. The main aims of an Honours year specialising in Environment and Society are: To enable students with an adequate background in Environment and Society to extend their studies in more depth than is possible with a pass degree To enhance students capacity for independent research and to extend research skills appropriate to the field of Environmental Social Science, and; To train to a standard sufficient for a specialist career or enrolment in postgraduate research degrees.
