Why study English as an International Language?
BA (Hons) field of study in English as an International Language (EIL) will develop students' research skills in relation to how English is used in globalised multilingual settings and the complex relationship between language, culture and identity. More specifically, it will provide students with a pathway of research opportunities in relation to advanced language and communication study in order to further;
(1) extend their understanding of different varieties of English and other cultural practices; and
(2) explore, through a research project, the language use in multilingual and intercultural settings.

Employment opportunities
Graduates who specialise in English as an International Language with an Honours thesis will have advanced understanding and specialist skills that enable them to navigate international professional and intercultural settings, for instance, international and multinational companies for positions in human resources, development, marketing, management and trade.
