Why study Earth Science?
Study Earth Science to learn how remote-sensing technologies and geographical information science (GIS) software is used to analyse geological processes and monitor changes in the Earth's environment. Deepen your understanding of the Earth's processes and energy sources by exploring topics such as mineral and rock analysis, mining geology, environmental geology, marine geology, palaeobiology or geochemistry. You'll develop and apply your knowledge through practical laboratory experience, fieldwork, and specialised seminars. In your final year, you'll undertake an independent research project under the guidance of an academic supervisor - essentially giving you a research apprenticeship. You may choose to tailor your specialisation with a major or minors from a broad range of scientific and non-scientific disciplines to suit your interests and career goals.
