Why study Earth Science?

Undertake an extended major in Earth Science to learn how remote-sensing technologies and geographical information science (GIS) software is used to analyse geological processes and monitor changes in the EarthÂ's environment.

Deepen your understanding of the EarthÂ's processes and energy sources by exploring topics such as mineral and rock analysis, mining geology, environmental geology, marine geology, palaeobiology or geochemistry.

YouÂ'll develop and apply your knowledge through practical laboratory experience, fieldwork, and specialised seminars.

Earth Science is available as a minor, major and extended major.
