Why study Digital Media?
Digital Media studies focuses on the continuous evolution of media technologies and industries. It considers the media we use, how we use it, and how we might change it. We prepare you to be active participants in your media landscape rather than passive consumers. You'll learn a combination of critical analytic, research, production, management and planning skills related to contemporary media industries. This minor has a focus on the significant domains of cultural production, such as news and television, and the roles they play in the formation of identity. It covers subjects like media production, media companies and how they work, creative thinking and group collaboration, theoretical and historical understandings of methods and theories behind media communication, why they emerged, and how we use them. Refine your skills in camera use, graphic design and video editing, and graduate with a packed portfolio ready to work in the exciting media industry, as well as the expanding array of organisations that have in-house media production and management.
