Why study Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology?
The Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology program covers all aspects of diagnostic and interventional radiology and radiography as relevant to the maxillofacial area. In a series of weekly seminars and reporting sessions, which includes clinical/hospital radiology and radiography sessions, candidates will advance from basic radiographic techniques to the most advanced techniques available and the interpretation of the resultant imaging. Visiting sessions are held at the radiology departments within institutions such as the Brisbane Private Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital to become familiar with advanced imaging techniques. Candidates also attend the Dental School for practical training and experience as well as participating in the routine service and teaching activities in radiography. The areas covered include oral medicine and clinical oral pathology, histopathology, radiology and radiographic techniques, systemic pathology, and advanced dento-maxillofacial radiology including interventional radiology and techniques.
