Why study Biochemistry and Molecular Biology?
Study a minor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to examine the chemical basis of life and understand its relevance to research and development in areas like medicine, proteomics, genomics, bioinformatics, biotechnology and genetic engineering. You will explore the molecular events controlling the growth and development of cells and organisms in all living things. Learn how molecular events can go wrong in certain diseased states and how this contributes to the development of new drugs. You will develop and apply your knowledge through practical laboratory experience, structured tutorials and specialised seminars. Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is available as a minor, major and extended major.
