Why study Ancient History?

Courses in the Ancient History minor introduce students to the daily lives of Ancient Mediterranean peoples, particularly the Greeks and Romans. Students can choose courses covering history, politics, religion, mythology, warfare, art and architecture. These courses also provide opportunities to work with material culture, to study ancient influences on modern institutions and ideas, and to engage with issues which are still important in the modern world, including ethical and responsible behaviour, personal bias, and equity and diversity.
