Why study Ancient History?
Ancient History offers a range of courses addressing the history, literature, philosophy, art, and archaeology of ancient civilisations. The program provides technical understanding of ancient sources (written, archaeological, iconographic, etc) and analytical reasoning skills. Students critically assess modern scholarly views and develop advanced oral and written communication skills. Courses include the civilisations of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia; the literature, philosophy, political history, and the art, architecture, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome. Please note that this program is designed for students with little or no prior background in the field. Some of the courses listed in this field are delivered jointly to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
