Course description
In this course students are introduced to key principles of creating, managing, presenting and curating historical knowledge in digital formats. The assessment they undertake will require them to research and produce web-based resources for the national history curriculum. They will draft and revise texts presenting the findings of their research for web-pages totalling around 4000 words. They will be required to prepared an electronic edition of a historical document, or five detailed catalogue descriptions of digital copies of historical artefacts, using an appropriate XML schema (approximately 6000 words). Students will also be required to produce an indexed video or audio resource of five minutes duration.
