Course description

This course is designed for final-semester students in the Master of Arts in Translation and Interpreting (MATI) program. It offers a hands-on opportunity to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application in a professional setting. Through a structured professional placement or an equivalent experience, students will engage with real-world challenges and expectations from industry. The course emphasises the development of essential employability skills: interpersonal communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability. Furthermore, students will cultivate a skill set that aligns with industry demands. They will learn to navigate professional environments, adapt to diverse work cultures, and contribute effectively to authentic workplace settings. By participating in this course, students will not only gain valuable work practice but also build a strong foundation for their future careers. Students who take TRIN7450 and/or TRIN7800 will need to choose other TRIN74XX courses in consultation with the Program Convenor.
