Course description
This course focuses on specialised translation and interpreting in medical and related fields. Students will be trained to develop specialised knowledge and skills for medical translation and interpreting, including medical textual conventions and medical/pharmaceutical terminology and concepts. Since knowledge of the subject matter is vital in order to produce quality interpretation and translations, students will gain a necessary understanding of medicine and pharmaceutical development. Interpreting skills will be further consolidated for consecutive and simultaneous interpreting in health settings.
