Course description

This course is designed to introduce students to the concepts and definitions of globalisation and the implications of globalisation for the tourism sector. The course will focus on the forces of globalisation and examine in detail good business practice and strategy in a global tourism industry. In addition it will examine implications of globalisation such as the problems of authenticity, place identity and the tourist "gaze".
