Course description
Departmental consent is required for semester 1 enrolment. Please contact the Program Director for permission to enrol.
Supervised practice experience for MSocWkSt students enrolled in the #24 unit program. Placement runs for 21 weeks, a combination of five, four and three days a week, in a social welfare agency. Placements held in first semester commence four weeks prior to the beginning of semester and continue for two weeks after the end of semester (with a one week break). Placements held in second semester commence two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester and continue for four weeks after the end of semester (with a one week break). Focuses on integration of practice experience with course material and companion courses.
Prospective students are advised to contact the Field Education Unit, to arrange a pre-placement interview, in the month of April of the same year, prior to going on placement in semester 2, or in August of the preceding year, prior to going on placement in semester 1.
