Course description
This course provides an introduction to social work practice with people with mental health problems in everyday social work settings. The emphasis is on understanding the lived experience of mental illness and treatments as a starting point for helping. Topics covered include conceptualising mental health and illness, social work in multidisciplinary settings, mental health policy and law, social work assessment, case management, community work and family work.
