Course description
This course will focus on assessment, differential diagnosis & clinical management of adults with acquired neurogenic language disorders including aphasia, the communication disorders associated with dementia, traumatic brain injury, & right hemisphere syndrome. Students will gain an understanding of the therapeutic process & knowledge of a range of therapy approaches for adults with acquired disorders of communication. Study of acquired communication disability will be framed in relation to the WHO's International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).
