Course description

This course provides students with a range of academic and professional skills necessary for further research or employment in the public and private sector. The course combines generic research skills workshops with further discipline or field specific seminars relating to methodology and theory for Honours students.

SOSC6020, Honours Research Seminar A is designed for Bachelor of Arts Honours students in the fields of Anthropology, Archaeology, Criminology, Sociology and Bachelor of Social Science Honours students. Students enrolled in the BA Honours program must also enrol in SOSC6021, Honours Research Seminar B.

Honours Research Seminar A should be undertaken in the final semester of an honours program. Students who wish to enrol in the Honours Research Seminar at any other stage of their program should consult with the Course Co-ordinator/s no later than the first week of classes, and preferably prior to the beginning of semester. Students enrolled in other programs who are eligible for enrolment in the course (for example Master of Social Science students who began their programs prior to 2010) also should consult with the Course Co-ordinator no later than the first week of classes.
